    Published January 1934

This copy is Dedicated and Signed by Author, James Normal Hall
Hardbound in near fine condition, 254 pages includes a FOREWORD, list of THE COMPANY OF THE BOUNTY’S LAUNCH,  measures approximately 5 ¾” x 8 ½”.
The boards are clean and bright, a bit of sunning is noted at the spine (although less than is pictured secondary to the flash) but no noticeable wear to the edges.  Titles and graphic are blind stamped in silver.  The book has been fitted with an acid free clear Mylar dust jacket to help maintain it in the future.
The interior reveals mapped end papers back and front that chart the launch’s course.  There is a custom printed woodblock-style Ex Libris attached to the front pastedown and James Norman Hall’s dedication to this same gentleman appears on the half-title.  The contents are clean and bright, firmly bound with no loose or misaligned pages, no creases or tears.
    “FOREWORD”
“The wind and weather of this narrative are those of Captain Bligh’s own log.  The events are those, which he himself recorded so briefly there.  It is hoped that the reader may, to some extent, share in the perils and hardships endured, and com3e to know the people of the bounty’s launch—who, under superb leadership, accomplished the most remarkable open-boat voyage recorded in the annals of the sea.”
    - J.N.H. & C.N.
A sequel of sorts to MUTINY ON THE BOUNTY, MEN AGAINST THE SEA tells the story of the fate of those officers and seamen that chose not to mutiny, but rather to brave the open sea in the meager ship’s launch under the command of Captain William Blight.   A fascinating story of survival and skill that lacks the romance of the Hollywood blockbusters of which we are all familiar, but is in fact no less impressive and moving.  This particular Author Signed copy would be a wonderful addition to a Pacific Island Collection.
