Vintage Indian Clay Figure Terracotta Krishnanagar Real Hair Tilak Spiritual Man

Description

I believe this to be a Krishnanagar figure due to the details such as the realistic features and actual hair (made of sheep’s wool or jute) attached to his head and chest. This figure is 5" tall and red and white stripes on his forehead, arms, and chest. Not sure the exact meaning of the stripes. No chips, cracks, or breaks.
The bodies of the
Krishnanagar figures
are modeled in active poses, made by forming coils of clay over a metal armature and finished with a square slab base; after being sun dried the figures are painted and then dressed in fabric clothing.
